About Our Research Group

Our research group focuses on computational chemistry, utilizing molecular dynamics (MD) and Monte Carlo (MC) simulations to investigate the properties and behavior of polymers, biomolecules, and solutions. We are engaged in both the development of new methodologies and their application to specific research problems. For further information, you are also welcome to check our lab's website.

For Prospective Undergraduate Students

It may be difficult to get a clear picture of what simulation-based research involves from websites alone. If you are not familiar with computers, you may feel anxious about joining our group. However, there is no need to worry. If you are interested in understanding molecular behavior through simulations and keep working step by step, you will gradually become proficient.

Ph.D.

We are looking for highly motivated Ph.D. students who are interested in pursuing research in our group. We can accept Research Students supported by Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarships. Please check our academic affairs department's site. You can find other opportunities at JASSO (Japan Student Services Organization) as well as general information. Our institute (RIIS) also offers fellowships for Ph.D. students from foreign countries. If you are interested in pursuing the Ph.D. course, please contact us.

Postdoctoral Fellows

The Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) calls for applications for Postdoctoral Fellowships for Research in Japan. If you are interested, please check here and contact us in advance.

The JSPS also receives applications through foreign nominating authorities. Please look at their list of nominating authorities and contact the nominating authority in your country.

Depending on the availability of funds, we may be able to hire postdoctoral fellows. Please contact us if you are interested.

Short-Term Visitors

The JSPS offers a summer program for Ph.D. students and early career researchers from US, UK, France, Germany, Canada, and Sweden. Please check the JSPS's website.

Also, the JSPS offers relatively short-term (1-12 months) fellowship programs for Ph.D. students and early career researchers. Please check the following links depending on your region:
